Facebook chat goes offline automatically: A guide to understanding and fixing the problem

One of the features of Facebook is the Chat option for instant messaging with your Facebook friends when they are online at the same time as you are. When you log on to Facebook, your current online status is automatically available to all your online contacts. You can also see who is online and available to chat. Click on any contact's name in the Chat box to start a conversation. Your message will instantly appear in a box at the bottom of your friend's Facebook browser. Sometimes, however, you may not want to chat with a specific friend or group of friends. You have the option of going offline selectively. Sometimes, too many friends are online at the same time, and you don't feel like having to answer anyone. When you are offline you can browse Facebook without anyone knowing you are online at all.

If you want, you can sort your Facebook friends into groups, and give each list a title. Click the white circle next to the title of the list to become invisible to them. You will then appear to be offline to that list only. Even when you are offline to a list, you can still see them in your chat window.

facebook chat goes offline automatically

As we explained in the previous tutorial, you will be automatically signed in to Facebook Chat when your login to your Facebook account; but Facebook gives you control in that you can at any point "go offline", and appear unavailable and invisible to other Facebook users. When you keep a web browser window opened to your Facebook profile, but don't do anything in it for 10 minutes or so, Facebook will first show you as "Idle" (and put a moon crescent icon next to your name for other Facebook Chat users to see, as shown on the screenshot below), and automatically put your status as offline a bit later.(Note that when your Facebook Chat status is set to idle, right before it goes to full offline, your friends can still send you a chat message - not so when you are actually offline, since you won't even appear in the "Friend Lists" or "Other Friends" listing of the Facebook Chat client.)

Unless you re-login to your Facebook account, you will remain offline until you manually choose to go back online, and become visible to Facebook friends once more inside the chat client; to do so, just click on the chat button in the bottom right corner - this will automatically put you back online and show your profile as available to chat with other users:

Valassis worked with Feldman Automotive Group in Detroit, Michigan, to drive leads and sales offline to local auto dealers. Valassis and a partner built a chatbot on Facebook Messenger for Feldman to help qualify leads.

Now, when you log into the LiveChat app and go to the Chats tab you will see the Unassigned chats section just under My chats. All messages your customers sent when you were away are displayed there. These messages will stay there until assigned to an agent (even after the chat is automatically archived).

Makes sense, right? But how do widgets switch between those statuses? And what if the widget isn't showing the status you're expecting? In this Springboard, you'll learn how a widget goes from offline to online status, and what to do if a widget appears offline even though you're logged into LibChat (and vice versa).

What it means Your presence status is hidden so that you appear to be offline but calls and messages aren't blocked. To your contacts, the last time your status was set to active or do not disturb is shown under your chat header as Last seen - days, hours, or minutes ago. How this status gets set You can set your status to invisible anytime you want.

What it means You're not signed into Skype on any device. To your contacts, the last time your status was set to active or do not disturb is shown under your chat header as Last seen - days, hours, or minutes ago. How this status gets set Set automatically when you sign out or aren't active for an extended period of time.

Users receive all chat messages sent to them in Teams regardless of their presence state. If a user is offline when someone sends them a message, the chat message appears in Teams the next time the user is online. If a user state is set to Do not disturb, the user will still receive chat messages, but banner notifications aren't displayed.

Recently, Android users came across a certain issue that said their smartphone is offline. They started to acomplain and ask questions like: "why is my Android phone offline?" or "why does my phone say I'm offline?" If you are one of those users who want to figure out the reasons of Android offline, then this article will definitely help you. Read below to know more about what to do when your phone goes offline.

If a match goes offline with this message (above example is Cpt. Muffin, Grace Kim, and Jonathan Hayes), it means that the player has reached the end of the available content and the story is "to be continued". A player who reaches this point of the story cannot unmatch the character. The character becomes grayed-out on the player's contact/text list and only premium photos are allowed to be viewed and are available to be purchased.

The process for setting up the offline form is the same for both Chat Standalone and integrated Chat + Support accounts; however, if you are on an integrated account, the offline form is disabled automatically if you are using the contact form in the Web Widget (Classic).

Unfortunately, Facebook does not offer an option to backup Facebook messages automatically or even auto save messages on Messenger, and there are currently no third-party apps or plugins that allow you to automatically backup messenger chat, but you can however download and save Facebook messages manually either through Facebook or a Facebook chat history manager.

There is atleast few ways to do it. Recommended way if you are using web browsers just configure in user account notification section and activate operator activity tracking. So operator will go offline/online automatically.

Facebook Messenger goes the extra mile to add convenience to the platform by enabling users to alert each other of their activity. One such step is using the active status, which symbolizes that the active person is available to chat with and is online at that moment to reply to your messages.

The Firebase Realtime Database lets you build rich, collaborative applicationsby allowing secure access to the database directly from client-side code. Datais persisted locally, and even while offline, realtime events continue to fire, giving the end user a responsive experience. When the device regains connection, the Realtime Database synchronizes the local data changes with the remote updatesthat occurred while the client was offline, merging any conflicts automatically.

Your associated email channel for live chat determines the default inbox where your live chat conversations live. This is a required selection because all live chat conversations in Re:amaze need to be attached to one of your email addresses. In case customers go offline while chatting with you or if they leave before you're able to serve them, your replies can be sent via email to the customer's email.

is what you looking for, but few things here to add, first, if it's something on your app which you want to keep checking (like to see if the user suddenly go offline, which correct in this case most of the time, then you need to listen to change also), for that you add event listener to window to detect any change, for checking if the user goes offline, you can do:

In Firefox: The property returns a boolean value, with true meaning online and false meaning offline but the caveat here is that"the value is only updated when the user follows links or when a script requests a remote page." Hence if the user goes offline andyou query the property from a js function or script, the property willalways return true until the user follows a link.

There is no plugin, script or anything else to find who turns off chat with you on Facebook. But you can silently find the person is online or offline from within Facebook. The below tips seem to work in most of the cases.
